We recently converted our small garage into a gym and I must say, this process was a workout within itself! 😂 Each of the stall mats on the floor weighs about 100lbs each! 😱 Fun fact: I was a crossfit coach for 3 years before I moved to Arizona. Hello Friends!

It has been quite a journey to get where we are today. I started my design career in fashion where I had the opportunity to work for some great companies being the lead designer of a variety of clothing and apparel lines. After 12 years working in the NYC fashion world I left to be with my 2 kids full time. My last job in fashion was as the head designer for Madonna’s clothing line Material Girl at Macy’s. I always joke that I left my job working for a diva to work for an even bigger one, my daughter, Legacy. After having my son General, we wanted better weather and a simpler life so we moved to a small town in Sonoma County California. After 4 years and both realizing that small town living was not our jam, we found a happy medium closer to family in a suburb right outside of Phoenix, AZ. We absolutely love it here!

I started sharing my experiences and inspirations for doing some DIY projects in our new home on IG. Shortly after an opportunity to design a local restaurant came along and I went for it! My husband helped with the big stuff (knocking down walls) and I helped with the design. Out of that came my love for woodworking and Butler Holmes Design LLC was born (Holmes is my maiden name).
